The Garage

Forming the foundation for the garage.

First pour of concrete.

Forming the garage foundation walls.

John inspecting the concrete walls for the garage.

Need to fill a big hole with clean fill.

John is a maniac on the bobcat.

Many trips to back fill.

Getting clean fill.

Had to take one selfie.

Compacting the garage floor before concrete.

Big garage - 24' x 32' and 11' high walls.

And 10' by 12' garage door to accommodate camper, etc.
Roofing complete.

Enjoyed a nice rainbow over the building site
with Joy and John's homes in the background.
After a hard days' work, we go for a swim
in the Georgian Bay across the street.

And the old cottages disappear.

 First comes off the roof.

We find that there is shiplap on the roof and sides.

We hope to do a feature wall with some of the
shiplap in the new cottage.

A wonderful old dresser that needs a new home.

Another wonderful old dresser that needs a home.

Old Singer from 1906 that made John's dad's diapers
and many other wonderful things.

Living looking north. The front window has been saved
to be used on the feature wall.

Gone
This was a very well built cottage and were sorry to see it go,
but the new place will have some of the old included.

All the trees were gone fall 2015.

Nice view of the beach now looking southwest.

View looking northwest.

View now from the beach.  Some people mentioned
they never knew any cottages were back there.

From John's cottage.

Looking between the two old cottages to
Joy's and John's homes.

Looking at Joy's home.

Looking at John's cottage.

As the land was cleared, it came into view.

Slowly the beach is coming into view.

Some of the tree cutting equipment.

View developing from the beach.

Equipment used.

Very tall crane for very tall trees.
