A Busy Summer Getting Things Done

Kitchen floor done.
Joy painting her window sills.
Got all of our cabinets from Cozy Home.  All plywood.
Nice to have no MDF and maple drawers and doors.
John painting window sills.
We painted all the trim, primed and two coats.
We were painting fools.
Mike did all the trim work.
He did a great job.
John installing our guest bath cabinets.
Kitchen pantry, refrigerator space
and microwave cabinets.
Summer solstice sunset.
Upper kitchen cabinets on south wall.
Joy's wet bar area windows.
Our great purchase at Lowes in GR.  This was a $10 fixture.
We got three plus a bigger one for the
dinning room that was a whopping $20.
We have three of these 80" fans - our living room, the master
 bedroom and Joy's living room.
Lower cabinets are being assembled by us.
They are very cost effective but assembly required.
All in place.
We have a bar countertop arriving.  We are ready.

The deck is all protected and ready to install the ceiling.
Mike and John installing the deck ceiling.
Turned out great!
Countertops for kitchen and baths arrives.
Joy's attached garage is ready for a concrete floor.
Let the wheelbarrowing begin.
Terry doing a great job.
Came back to do the finishing polishing.
Now garage door can be installed.
Joy's son and family (first granddaughter)

all painted by Joy.

Ryan came to help Grandpa.
Paul, Ryan, and Alex came to help build the back deck.
Thanks guys.  You guys did a great job.
Thanks to the guys at Plumb Core, we now
have running water and toilets!
Guest bath.
Our beautiful kitchen sink.
Master bath.
Got the living/dinning room plywood painted
to keep the dust down.
Guest bedroom floor painted.
Master bedroom floor painted.
Carpet installed in all three rooms.
The echoes of high ceilings have disappeared.
We had to build pole caps for the posts
before railings could be installed.
Three sides were together, placed over post,
then screwed the fourth side on.
Jim installing the railings almost as fast
as the caps being installed.  Thanks Paul for helping.
Melissa and Paul helping with the back deck railings.
Jim and helper installing the glass.
Really happy with our railings out front.
Really happy with our railings out back too.
The back deck passed framing inspection.
As well as the front deck.
Joy's fireplace and fan.
Joy's lights over dining table and into the wet bar area.  All match.
Joy's bath cabinet installed waiting
for countertop and sink.
When inspector was here said we had to drywall garage
ceiling because of foam insulation.  We added some Roxul
insulation for sound deadening plus resilient channel.
Decided to drywall the walls while they were at it.
Opps.
Fell several steps off the ladder installing insulation in garage ceiling
and landed hard on my left leg.  Decided to head to Michigan
to have it looked at.  Nothing broken, called it a knee effusion.
Gave me crutches and 800 mg of Motrin and said take it easy.
Swelling has gone down and have started putting some weight on it.

Items still needed to be done:
Siding finished which started again today, three stories of stairs starting next week,
concrete patio for Joy's slider area, back steps for back door, hatch for cupola,
and a few other things.  Probably 4 to 6 weeks to move in.
Amazing how much time this takes.
