John was able to move all the root filled dirt to the front for removal.
This shows what a nice big backyard we will have.
About 10 tents if a bunch wanted to come visit!
While getting clean fill piled up for backfill, John came across the "remains"
of an old outhouse. A one hole.
And a little further back a two hole.
Also found an old septic tank - empty.
Bobcat was able to move with no problem.
While the scaffolding was up for the garage, I took a picture from what
would be a similar view from our bedroom.
Tommy the excavator and Paul the truck driver
moved all the root filled dirt to John's airstrip.
View from the road as the pile goes down.
Digger starting to get to the correct depth.
Digger working more in front of the garage area.
Digging continues.
And continues. John walking carefully next to the hole.
Depth readings were taken as we got close to the bottom.
Digger in the sunshine.
22 truck loads day one and 23 truck loads day two.
Each load was approximately 20 - 23 yards of sand.
Towards the end of day three. John doing the measurements
while digger and bobcat stockpile fill.
The final hole looking southwest.
The final hole looking northwest.
From Joy's deck. You can see the two huge
piles of sand on front and back of the hole.
